Dry Lips? Your Gym Routine Might Be the Reason.

By: Raghad 27 September 2026

Your workout routine doesn’t have to leave your lips feeling dry and uncomfortable.

Heat, sweat, air conditioning and breathing through your mouth while you train can all make your lips feel tight, flaky or dehydrated. But with a few simple steps, you can keep them soft before and after the gym.

First, hydrate.

Drink plenty of water before your workout and keep your water bottle close during your session.

Before you start, apply a nourishing lip balm.

Look for something hydrating that helps keep moisture in without feeling heavy or sticky.

Try not to lick your lips while you train.

It might feel refreshing for a second, but frequent licking can contribute to dryness afterwards.

Once you’re done, give your lips another swipe of balm.

If they feel extra dry, reach for a richer lip treatment or lip mask before bed.

Soft lips before, during and after your workout? Done.
